Sunset Painting:

This sunset painting is a 24×36″ Oil on canvas. “The Santa Cruz Comes To Life”.  This one is fresh off the easel. It’s a studio piece I did from a plein air sunset study from several weeks ago. Here is AZ we are not to far away from our Monsoon season. It is always a time of spectacular sunsets because of the storm clouds. I plan to take advantage of the season and get as much reference material as possible. I start watching the sky early in the day to get prepared to capture one of our “out of this world” monsoon sunsets. The spot where I painted this piece is very close to my home. I often drive down to this part of the river to get reference material if the sky is coming to life with fire!
