Thrive: You Were Made To Thrive

thriveThe group “Casting Crowns” is one of my favorites and I love the lyrics on their new song “Thrive”: “It’s time for us to more than just survive, we were made to thrive.”  The dictionary defines thrive this way: “to prosper, be fortunate or successful, to grow or develop vigorously to flourish.”

Let me ask you a question; do you believe that you were made to “thrive”?  You were! Here is what the one who created you says about you, He came to give you a “rich and satisfying life” (John 10:10) those are Jesus’ words about you.

Look at what God says about you in Psalm 1: “They are like trees planted along the riverbank bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.” (Psalm 1:3 NLT) That sounds like a person who is made to thrive.  In my book Life Palette I talked about how you are created as God’s masterpiece. Masterpiece living is a life of thriving.

Here are 3 things you can do to assure that you thrive today:

1. Think Thrive

Life is an inside job.  Whatever you think you are, you become. Choose to align your thoughts with the truth that God Himself speaks about you. Discipline your thoughts to think like a masterpiece.

2. Act Thrive

Actions begin as thoughts. Get your thoughts in line with a life of thriving and then make sure your actions and your words are reflecting a life of thriving.

3. Live Thrive

Enjoy the fact that you were made to thrive.  Prayerfully consider the areas of your life that do not reflect the word “thrive”.  Then make a calculated decision that you are going to focus on those areas to get them in line with thriving as the masterpiece you were created to be

You were made to thrive, that is why you always have that deep sense that there is more. It is the potential that is a part of your DNA that is longing to be realized. Don’t just hope or dream about living a life of thriving, take action right now and choose to think thrive, act thrive and live thrive!

Why do you think we allow ourselves to live anything less than the life of thriving that God has for us?  Give your response below.
