It’s settled! It’s going to be the 49ers and the Ravens. I’m most looking forward to the showdown between the Harbaugh brothers! (In case you didn’t know the coaches of the two teams are brothers) I said in a recent talk that theDenver Broncos are God’s favorite team! Someone asked why they didn’t make it to the big game, my reply is simply that their loss to the Ravens is proof that God disciplines those He loves! (Hebrews 12:6)
Here’s proof: Tony Romo (Quarterback for Dallas Cowboys) went to heaven and Peter met him at the pearly gates and escorted him to his mansion. As they approached it he could tell that it was his because it was decorated in Cowboy paraphernalia and painted with Cowboy colors. The closer he got though the mansion next to his came into view. It was ten times larger and on a much bigger piece of land. Everything about it was better and more beautiful. It was painted in Bronco colors and decorated with all kinds of Denver Bronco paraphernalia. Tony asked Peter, “Why is Peyton Manning s (Denver Bronco Quarterback) mansion so much bigger and nicer than mine?” Peter responded, “That’s not Peyton’s mansion, that’s Gods!”
Not only is it time for the Big Game, but it’s also time to start a new weekend talk series called “Game Plan”. In this four week talk series I’m going to be dealing with on of life’s biggest question: what should I do with my life? Maybe you’ve asked yourself that question before. Most of us have done so several times throughout the course of our lives. The good news is that God created you and has a plan for your life and He says it is a good, perfect and pleasing plan. (Romans 12:1-2) Maybe you have heard that, believe that, and yet you have experienced frustration as you try to discover His plan for your life.
Premise: The premise of “Game Plan” is that no matter who you are, where you’ve been or what you’ve done, or what your age, God has a GREAT plan for your life.
Promise: My promise to you is that at the end of this four week talk series you will be better equipped and encourage to understand and discover God’s plans for your life.
It all begins this weekend at Alive Church. You can join me live at our campus or online live during all three weekend services. There is a championship on the line, not just between the 49ers and Ravens, it’s the championship of winning and living the life you were created to live!
