Have your family or friends ever told you that you are a nobody or that you wouldn’t amount to much? Maybe you have heard it so much that you have started to believe it. Or perhaps you have spoken these words of death to someone you know and love. You need to know that God does not look at you and see a nobody that will not amount to anything. Only God sees the things that He created deep within you that others cannot see.
In Psalm 139:16 the Psalmist wrote: “You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” God is a God who looks, sees your potential, sees you for who and what He created you to be. Regardless of your past mistakes or bad choices, He looks and sees what you can be!
When God looked at Moses He saw a great leader who would deliver the children of Israel from slavery in Egypt. At the time, Moses’ resume had written: murderer, fugitive and sheep herder (not to mention that he had a speaking problem), but God looked and saw the potential that He had placed within Moses. This is not just a one-off situation for God. He looked at Abraham and saw a nation. He looked at Jacob, a deceiver, and saw a Messiah. He looked a David, a shepherd boy, and saw a King. God looks at you, right where you are today, right now and see’s the potential that He has created within you.
If you feel like this just cannot be true of you, then you are precisely the one He is waiting for. He is waiting for you to trust Him with your potential and to obey Him with whatever He leads you to do. Others may not see it, they may think you are crazy or silly. The great news is, you don’t have to prove it to anybody, you don’t have to strive and struggle to be somebody because you already are to Him. Be free from the bondage of trying to please someone and prove yourself to others. Began to live your potential as His masterpiece today. Prayerfully ask Him to empower you; He’s waiting and longing for you to do so.
