Knowing and believing you can live life as the masterpiece God created you to be is important. Wherever you are right now is not where you have to stay. You can grow and improve; in fact you must continue to grow and improve to live fully to your full potential. God has given you natural gifts, talents, intelligence and personality; you’re responsible to develop them. This is your Life Palette. You can develop all that God has created you to be with your skill level, aptitude, talents and gifts which are not fixed with a ceiling or limitation. God’s expectation is that you will grow and improve.
The good news is that He gives you the power and wisdom to do so. When you feel you are struggling to navigate growth, prayerfully ask Him for wisdom: “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” (James 1:5 NLT)
Don’t Focus On Avoiding Mistakes
Culture tends to make you feel that you need to focus on avoiding mistakes rather than challenging yourself so that you can grow and improve. The challenge of advancement will increase your risk of making mistakes and potential failures, but it is a part of the growth process.
When I lived in Colorado and did a lot of snow skiing, I would often take friends who had never skied before for the first skiing experience. The one thing that I heard from all of them was that they were concentrating on not falling. I would tell them, that unless you are willing to fall and be covered with snow you will never learn to ski.
Give Yourself Permission To Fail
Don’t let the fear of mistakes and failure keep you from success – It’s all a part of growing and improving – necessary to reach your full potential as the masterpiece God created you to be. It’s all a part of the process of growth. The more you are willing to face your fears and give yourself permission to try and fail so that you can grow and improve the more you will stay motivated with every setback. You will enjoy what you do more, live with more vigor and enthusiasm and have less stress. There is no down side to moving forward with growth and improvement.
