Establish A Path To Personal Excellence

personal

Personal excellence is a part of your makeup. How do I know? Because the One who created you made you as His masterpiece. “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (Ephesians 2:10 NLT). It may only be living in the form of potential at this point because you have not yet made it a part of your Life Palette. Today is the day, to begin to see and establish personal excellence as your standard in all things. It is a trait that has become a part of all of those who have lived their potential and life purpose before you. It is a necessary trait for you to live life as a masterpiece.

Here are some pointers to help you make it a trait in your life:

1. Develop A Passion For Excellence

You probably already have this in one form or another, it’s the reason you have a favorite restaurant or mechanic. You choose to continue to give them your business because they are excellent at what they do. Now turn the tables on yourself and your life. Make a commitment to always do your work, develop your relationships, and use your gifts and talents with excellence.

To develop this as a personal passion you need to be clear on your mission, vision, and values and be able to communicate them clearly with others. It is the only way that you can be fully invested in living your life as the masterpiece you were created to be.

2. Take Personal Responsibility

Personal responsibility is not a popular idea in our culture, unfortunately, without it, you cannot fully live out your potential. Those unwilling to take personal responsibility spend their lives blaming others for their short-comings and failures, never getting on with the task of living as a masterpiece.

3. Get Focused On Results

To be results-oriented means you will need to be strategic. Proverbs 21:5 says that “Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.”  Good planning is being strategic. In order to be strategic, you must be clear about the results that you are looking for in every area of your life.

4. Make A Commitment To Personal Growth

Personal growth is something you never get too old for. In fact, you are designed for perpetual personal growth. Look at what the Proverbs writer says about your life and growth: “The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day” (Proverbs 4:18 NLT).

These four pointers will get you on the path to establishing personal excellence in your life with and ultimately as the masterpiece God created you to be.
